Glasgow, which
dominates this area, will provide you all of the buzz and excitement you would expect from
one of Europe's liveliest destinations. Whilst the seaside, market, historic and modern
towns, dotted throughout the Clyde Valley offer something for everybody.
The busy tourist centre of Oban is also the centre for network of ferry services linking
the Islands with mainland Scotland.
You can take a trip
Islay also called Queen
of the Hebrides. Most cars, and passenger traffic to and from goes
by ferry using the route from Kennacraig. Islay is the fifth largest
Scottish island and the sixth largest island surrounding Great
Britain. It has just over three thousand inhabitants. It has a total
area of almost 620 square kilometres (239 sq mi). Its main
industries are malt whisky distilling, and tourism. With 8 working
whisky distilleries on the island, it is famous for its malt whiskys
making the malt whisky industry one of the most important sources of
income for the island. Famous names like Bruichladdich, Bowmore,
Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain and Ardbeg are the
famous brands well known all over the world. Other main industries
are farming and fishing.
