The
Isle of Lewis, a land of enormous skies, pristine white sands and fascinating history lies
off the West
Coast of Northern Scotland. A three-hour sail from Ullapool, past
The Summer Isles (Tir Nan Og) and across The Minch brings you to the port of Stornoway.
Forty minutes by car over to the west coast of Lewis finds you by the most breathtaking
beach and coastline over which Uig Lodge commands superb views out across the Atlantic.
Built in 1876 by Sir James Matheson, Lord Leverhulme later purchased the Lodge and gave it to his niece as a wedding present. Let mainly as a sporting lodge it is also available for family and large group holidays and makes an ideal location for those with a love of the sea and open spaces. Spacious and comfortably furnished with many antiques, the accommodation is a combination of Highland grandeur and Hebridean charm which creates a wonderful holiday home for families and friends. Children and adults will find this an idyllic location for an island holiday. Fishing and the services of a ghillie can be arranged at some periods. There is excellent sea trout fishing available in April and May. Housekeeping and cook by arrangement.
