The Old Barn offers quality 4 star accommodation on a
small family farm in the delightful East Neuk of Fife. The property commands
a spectacular rural position with outstanding views across the Firth of
Forth towards North Berwick and Edinburgh. The Old Barn is a fabulous place
to relax and unwind; newly converted to the highest standard yet ideally
situated for the many tourist attractions in the area.
The
East Neuk of Fife has over 40 golf courses within an hour's drive and is a
paradise for any golfer. There is also a huge range of other outdoor
activities including horse riding, off road quad biking, local sky-diving,
cycleways and the Fife Coastal Path for walkers. There are opportunities for
watersports, indoor carting, golf driving ranges, sailing trips to the Isle
of May, a visit to the Scottish Deer Centre and the chance to enjoy the
unspoilt blue flag beaches for which the area is famous. By this stage you
may have an appetite! You can then choose from a wide variety of superb
places to eat from acclaimed restaurants to cafes and bars all within a
short drive and many set either in the local countryside or around the
coastal villages.
Accommodation:
The Old Barn is part of an old steading which has
been completely rebuilt with the original whin stone, traditional slate roof
and finished internally in hardwood oak. There are two en-suite bedrooms on
the first floor one of which is a twin room and the other being a double
room with south views over the Firth of Forth and surrounding countryside.
Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes with mirror sliding doors the accommodation
sleeps 4 adults
The entrance into the ground floor has a front door porch which is a good
place to remove your outdoor shoes and jackets, this leads into a hallway
with a useful storage cupboard.
The sitting room is spacious with a large bay window looking south over
the Forth. This room includes a leather six piece suite of which the
two-seater opens to become a sofa bed which can accommodate two extra
adults. Relax with the ease of an electric fire and the luxury of widescreen
digital TV. Also on the ground floor is a well appointed bathroom with a
power shower.
The kitchen is built with oak units and the dishwasher, fridge and freezer
are all integrated. Leading from the kitchen is a small utility room with
sink, storage cupboards, washing machine, tumble drier and ironing board.
The house has full double glazing and oil central heating throughout. There
is private parking and a garden area. As the owners live nearby there should
always be someone on hand to help with any requests.
Location:
The Old Barn is situated in Fife, 6 miles from St Andrews. From St Andrews
take the A915 Largo road south for approx 5 miles. Turn left onto the B940
heading for Crail. After approx 1 mile turn right, signposted for Arncroach/Kellie
Castle. The Old Barn is part of Over Kellie Farm on your left. From the
Forth Road Bridge (M90), take the A92 Kirkcaldy road. At the end of the road
turn right at the roundabout, then left and head north on the A915. Entering
Upper Largo continue on the A917. Stay on route B942 through Colinsburgh for
approx 2 miles. Turn left onto the B9171 / Arncroach at a sharp corner. At
the next t-junction, turn left, carry on up through the village for approx 1
mile and The Old Barn is at Over Kellie Farm on the right-hand side of the
road.
What's included:
All heating and electricity are included in the price. Bed linen and towels
are provided. A cot and high chair are available on request.

The cottage is rented out year round.
Rental periods are from Saturday to Saturday. Arrival after 4pm, unless by
special request. Leave by 10am. Short breaks are available with a minimum
stay of three nights.
